Newbridge Beat
Venue Description
Our Game fishing on the River Taw.
Newbridge is the first beat on the river system. All salmon and Sea Trout access our fishing first before moving upstream.
Large tides bring in fresh stocks throughout the season subject to conditions at the time. Our 9 holding pools have produced salmon to 20lbs in recent years. With the larger Sea Trout running earlier on in the season.
During low water conditions our beat also holds a good stock of brown trout. These are wild fish and as such will give good sport on the right tackle. Dry flies and nymphs bring good results.
The river is EA Patrolled and protected .
All Environmental Agency and Barnstaple and District Angling Association rules apply.
