Aller Lake
Venue Description
Aller is known as a wild Lake, formed many years ago in the heart of the magnificent Filliegh Estate , here in North Devon.
The fishery has been stocked over the years with ‘ fingerlings’ of several species with the help of the Environmental Agency . These fish have grown on and re-produced to form the lakes fish stocks.
This is not a commercial / competition type coarse lake . Do not expect Carp of 25lb, Tench at 10lbs or Roach at 3lbs. Nor will a session produce hundreds of mixed fish to stuff a keep net.
What we have is back to the 60’s type of fishing. . Not so much equipment that a wheel barrow is needed to transport it all !
Just bring your rod, reel, line, and net. . A comfortable seat and bait. Bread, bread paste, sweet corn , maggots. and luncheon meat will catch all
For you Carp anglers an unhooking mat is mandatory, as are barbless hooks in all cases .
